Morph is a concept demonstrating some of the possibilities nanotechnologies might enable in future communication devices. Morph can sense its environment, is energy harvesting and self cleaning .
Morph is a flexible two-piece device that can adapt its shape to different use modes. Nanotechnology enables to have adaptive materials yet rigid forms on demand.
It is also featured in the MoMA online exhibition "Design and the Elastic Mind". It has been a collaboration project of Nokia Research Center and Cambridge Nanoscience Center.

On old hard drives, yes. But new hard drives (solid state drives) are made with NAND Gates that can store electricity, somewhat like usb flash drives. Really a long subject for a youtube comment, but check the "Solid-state drive" article on wikipedia if your interested.

I know what a solid-state drive is. No one even uses them and they are very overpriced for the actual size of storage you get from them, though they are very stable in data backup.

Ok, tan if this phone that can change shapes and do all this stuff with nanotechnology, than why can't intel and AMD create an 11 nanometre processor and start selling it now if this technology is so advanced. Intel predicts the first 'true' nanotechnology processor will be made around 2015 and the International Technology Roadmap for Semiconductors predict 2022. This phone is SURELY more advanced than a 11 nm processor.

Lets just hope that this won't end up like the flying car concept. Are we looking too far into the future? trying to power a device with sun power, is like a card thick and is touch screen etc.. If this type of amazing technology came out slower, it will become cheaper because not all research has to be used for a long term item, put some short term items like cards that play movies on them first. Or this item will never survive...
